Opposing the Businessification of Australia’s Universities

The Conversation has an account of a letter signed by 600 Australian academics opposing the businessification of the country’s universities. This process of neoliberalisation of the academy began under the Hawke Labor government and has been an unending slide into commercialisation, commodification and control of universities by corporate-dominated senates and councils in league with senior administrators receiving obscene salaries for their compliance on businessification mandates.
