Populism and Democracy

Bristol University Press has made a selection of its journal articles available for free download. The theme is Populism and Democracy. It’s introduction states:

In recent years we have seen a decline of traditional forms of political engagement. As public trust in mainstream politicians falls we have seen the rise of populist leaders in countries around the world. There is also increasing concern over the decay of democratic processes and the growth of illiberal democracies. As the fight for the US presidency unfolds, we ask, how did we get here?

None of the articles appear to be on Asia, but some of the articles will be of interest to JCA readers.
